Myk

Myk is a nurturing and grounding presence at the farm, lending her practical nature to both horse and human interactions. She enjoys taking jaunts around the farm, jumping, and working over poles when the opportunity arises.
Have you ever been in a situation where you needed help? That was Myk’s experience as a young horse. Her former owner rescued her from neglectful circumstances in Florida, then spent countless hours gaining her trust – and discovered along the way that she loved to jump! Despite her rough beginning, Myk is unfailingly approachable, welcoming, and calming in her interactions with both horses and humans. Each day at Bridle Paths she reminds us of the importance of being present, staying connected, and reaching out for help and support. Myk is beloved by everyone at the farm, whether she’s helping a riding student to learn about balance and alignment, supporting a trauma survivor in regaining trust and empathy, or partnering with a veteran who’s rediscovering his place and his purpose in the world. Myk requires daily supplements and shoes to feel her best (and the occasional jelly donut doesn’t hurt!)
Myk has become an indispensable part of our program. She participates in all facets of our program, but her gentle spirit and calm demeanor really shine in the psychotherapy arena.
