Chance

Chance is purposeful and focused. He teaches his humans (and his herd mates) how to be clear, consistent, and curious in relationships.
Chance was imported from Europe to compete as an “A” show hunter, including with former U.S. Olympic show jumper Reed Kessler during her time competing in the children’s hunter division. He joined the Bridle Paths team in 2014 following a long and varied show career. He teaches all of us – staff, volunteers, and participants alike – how to conduct ourselves with dignity, grace, humor, and gusto. During his ten years at Bridle Paths, he has created deep and lasting bonds with many, many people. Chance can be wary when encountering new people; he requires time and consistent interactions in order to trust and connect deeply (a trait that many veterans and military families find extremely relatable). At the same time, he is the consummate professional, attending to the needs of his horse and human herds with focus, care, and safety. Like many older horses, Chance has developed medical conditions that warrant veterinary monitoring, including medications, supplements, and shoeing.
Chance’s show ring experience, extensive training, and big stride help riders perfect their posting, steering, and balance in the adaptive riding arena. Chance’s focus and ability to get his point across also offers clients myriad insights in our psychotherapy program.
