Admiral

Admiral is our resident extrovert, always happy to greet visitors and to share snacks and lunch with his people.
Admiral is the very definition of a gentle giant. Because of his large stature, he is often judged by his appearance, assumed to be able to handle anything that comes his way. Behind that imposing exterior, though, is a sensitive side; when he is overstimulated or confused, he can get “in his head,” worrying about doing things perfectly. Admiral thrives in an environment with clear, consistent communication. which helps him to remain regulated and focused. Admiral shines most brightly in his work with our veterans, service members, and their families. Now in his late teenage years, Admiral has developed medical conditions such as osteoarthritis and Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID – a metabolic disorder also known as equine Cushing’s disease), both of which require daily medication.
Admiral lends riders confidence in mounted sessions, and his sensitivity and intuition are also assets in the psychotherapy program.
