Beth Ratchford grew up in South Carolina where she was a “horse crazy” little girl. And now she’s a “horse-crazy” adult!
By a circuitous career route, Beth ended up as a therapist over 20 years ago and hasn’t looked back. She has a private practice in Leesburg working with adults with complex trauma. Beth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is a certified mental health professional through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). She is also the founder of True Self Journey, a community dedicated to supporting people on their journey of healing from childhood trauma.
Beth spent her undergraduate years at the University of South Carolina. She holds a Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary. Her search for an equine-assisted psychotherapy option for clients led Beth to Bridle Paths in 2015. She quickly figured out that there was something unique happening at Bridle Paths and knew she wanted to be a part of it.
Beth loves all things barn-related, going on adventures with her rescue pup, Maisie, and is an
avid South Carolina Women’s Basketball fan.
“My work with clients at Bridle Paths has had a deep impact on their healing and recovery. And
it has done the same for me. I’m honored to get to be a part of the unfolding story of Bridle
Paths.”
